Well, the candidate has to register online on the portal of National Council for hotel management, the entrance exam, which is called, as JEE is conducted every year by NTA in the months of April or May. Based on the merit ranking acquired by the student and the choice of Institute, filled by the candidate he or she is allotted institute in the country.

Well, you can do that by filling the choice of your Institute as per your liking while submitting the application form. Once you score well in your exam and you get a good AIR, you may get the institute of your choice.

Questions are based on Numerical Ability and Analytical Aptitude, Reasoning and Logical Deduction, General Knowledge & Current Affairs, English Language, Aptitude for Service Sector. Please note that the entrance exam is held in both English as well as Hindi Language.

You can get a good score in your entrance exam by preparing in advance as there are many books available in the market and there is lot of online material available on the Internet. Also, apart from this, once you register and submit your application for the entrance exam, you will be able to download a brochure from the national council's website in which there are sample previous years papers, which you can go through and you can practice for the same.
Back to top7. What is the eligibility criteria for applying for this exam?
A candidate should have passed 10+2 system of Senior Secondary Examination or its equivalent with English as one of the subjects, from a recognized Educational Board. Candidate must have passed English as a subject of study (core/elective/functional) in the qualifying examination. Those appearing in 10+2 or equivalent examination can also appear in NCHM JEE on provisional basis.
Reservation is applicable as per Govt. of India rule.
There is no age restriction for appearing in NCHM JEE as per the New Education Policy.
8. How and Where is the entrance exam held?
The examination is conducted in the major cities of the country in Computer Based Module. The list of cities is available in the admission brochure.
Back to top9. How can we get clarity and guidance on counselling?
So counselling is a process, which is conducted after your entrance exam is over and you have secured your AIR. Now, before the final counselling happens, a special mock session is organized by the National Council for the students. So that they can practice the entire process and do not make any mistakes at the time of final, counselling.

The admission is centralised process under NCHMCT through JEE. However admission to the short term courses is through direct mode.

All the 12th Pass students irrespective of their stream can join the B.Sc. in Hospitality and Hotel Administration course if they fulfil the eligibility for admission.

No. For those students who are not comfortable cooking non-veg food, IHM Ahmedabad provides a separate vegetarian course for them.

Because of the technical nature of the course, it is named as Bachelor of Science in Hospitality and Hotel Administration.

National Council for Hotel Management & Catering Technology, has been set up in 1982 as an Autonomous Body under the Ministry of Tourism, to centrally run and regulate academics for B.Sc. Hospitality & Hotel Administration and ten other structured courses of study that are imparted at the affiliated 21 Central Institutes of Hotel Management, 30 State Government Institutes of Hotel Management, 01 Public Sector Undertaking, 2 PPP run SIHMs and 24 Private Institutes of Hotel Management.

For the physical and wellbeing of our students, we have a sports club which offers various sports facilities, for eg: we have a basketball court and volleyball court in our campus. We also have other recreational clubs like ECO club, Hindi club etc to imbibe the values of environment sustainability and to showcase the talent of our students etc.

We have a limited hostel facility and the allocation of hostel is based on the merit as per the JEE rank. However, after the final reporting at the institute if the seats are vacant due to any reason, then the same will be filled based on merit.

No. The institute does not provide any laundry facility for its students. However, students can avail the private laundry facilities available nearby.

Various state and central governments provide scholarship facility to the students of IHM Ahmedabad. Students willing to avail the same can contact the coordinators for the scholarship who will guide the students in the application and process.

Yes in the second year. There is one entire semester of about 17 weeks dedicated to the Industrial Exposure, where the students are exposed to different departments of a hotel and learn about the practical operations and overall management.

According to the latest fees structure, the entire three-year degree would cost around 4 lacs. The hostel fees is separate, amounting to Rs. 50 thousand approximately per year, which is applicable to change.
