These seats shall be filled based on the marks obtained by the candidate in 10+2 or equivalent examination from recognized Boards. Marks obtained in English and other best 4 subjects will be reckoned for the purpose of finalizing the inter-se merit list. Any candidate from the JEE list who has not earlier been allotted any seat or allotted seat can also apply against the advertisement, but selection will be based on the marks of 10+2 and not on the basis of rank of JEE.
Interested eligible candidates may download the Application Format from the website www.ihmahmedabad.com. The scanned copy of the filled format be forwarded to our email id : principal@ihmahmeabad.com latest by 29th July 2010. The list of such registered candidates shall be displayed on the website on 31st July containing further directions. Classes shall begin soon after completion of the admission process. |

Minimum Qualification |
 |

| Minimum qualification for admission is a pass in the examination of 10+2 system of Senior Secondary education or its equivalent with English as one of the compulsory subject. Admissions will be subject to verification of facts from the original certificates/ documents to be produced by the candidates at the time of admission in Institute. Even after admission to an Institute, if an applicant is at a later date found ineligible on account of having submitted false information or testimonials or for having suppressed any material information, his/her admission will be cancelled and the fee paid will also be forfeited. Decision of National Council in this regard shall be final. |

List of approved qualifying examinations for Indian Students |

Plus two level examination in the 10+2 pattern of Senior Secondary education of any recognized Central/ State Board, such as Central Board of Secondary Education and Council for Indian School Certificate Examination or State Boards of Secondary Education. |

Intermediate or two-year Pre-University Examination conducted by a recognized Board/ University. |

General Certificate Education (GCE) Examination (London/ Cambridge/ Sri Lanka) at the Advanced (A) level. |

Age Limit |
 |
| |
| For candidates from General and OBC categories upper age limit is 22 years as on 1.7. 2010, only those candidates whose date of birth falls on or after July 01, 1988 are eligible. In the case of Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe candidates upper age limit is 25 years as on 1.7.2010, only those SC / ST candidates whose date of birth falls on or after July 01, 1985 will be eligible. Upper age limit for Physically Challenged candidates shall be reckoned as per the category he/she belongs to since Physically Challenged category candidates may belong to General/SC/ST/OBC category. Date of birth as recorded in the Secondary Education Board/ Pre- University Certificate is the only authentic proof that will be accepted. At the time of admission, this certificate must be produced in original as a proof of age, failing which the candidate will not be considered for admission. |

Physical Fitness |

| |
| All qualified candidates will have to submit a physical fitness certificate from a Registered Medical Practitioner in the prescribed format given in this Brochure at the time of admission. |

Scheduled Caste/ Scheduled Tribe and OBC Candidates |
 |
| |
| Seats remaining vacant in SC & ST categories shall not be filled by candidates belonging to any other categories whereas seats remaining vacant under OBC may be filled up from General Category. |

| The certificate of SC,ST & OBC category is required to be issued by District Magistrate/ Additional District Magistrate/ Collector/ Deputy Commissioner/ Additional Deputy Commissioner/ Deputy Collector/ 1st Class Stipendiary Magistrate/ City Magistrate/ Sub‐Divisional Magistrate/ Additional Chief Presidency Magistrate/ Presidency Magistrate/ Revenue Officer not below the rank of Tehsildar/ Sub‐Divisional Officer of the area where the candidate and / or his/ her family normally resides/ Administrator/ Secretary to Administrator/ Development Officer (Lakshadweep Island). Certificate issued by any other authority will not be accepted. |

| Candidates are required to produce the original Cast Certificate along with attested copy at the time of admission. |

OBC candidates (non-creamy layer) |
 |
| |
| OBC (Other Backward Class) (non‐creamy layer) candidates have to submit the certificate in prescribed format for admission. Those candidates who are listed in Central list of OBC only are eligible for admission under the reservation of OBC in Central Institutes of Hotel Management. For detailed OBC list, candidates may visit website of http://ncbc.nic.in/backward-classes/index.html and for definition of non‐creamy layer visit website: http://ncbc.nic.in/html/creamylayer.html Prescribed format of OBC Certificate is given in this Brochure for reference. Certificate of OBC other than the prescribed format or Caste not falling under the Central list shall not be considered for reservation under OBC Category. The OBC certificate should be current and not more than one year old and should be issued in favour of candidate. |

Who qualify for admission under Physically Challenged Candidates |
 |

| (a) |
Orthopedically Challenged Candidates |
| |
Only those Orthopedically Challenged candidates who have locomotion disability or cerebral palsy with locomotion impairment of minimum of 40% and maximum of 75% falling in the following categories are eligible to apply. |

|
| |
B.L. – Both Legs affected but not arms.
O.A. – One Arm affected (R or L) a. Impaired reach b. Weakness of grip c. Ataxia
O.L. – One Leg affected (Right or Left)
M.W. – Muscular Weakness and limited Physical endurance. |

| (b) |
Visually Challenged Candidates |
| |
Only those visually challenged candidates who suffer from any one of the following conditions are eligible to apply. |

| |
i. Visual acuity not exceeding 6/60 or 20/200 (Swollen) in the better eye with correcting lenses.
ii. Limitation of the field of vision subtending an angle of 20 degree or worse. |

|
| (c) |
Hearing Impaired Candidates |
| |
Only those Hearing impaired candidates having disability between 40% to 75% shall be eligible. |
| |
|
| (d) |
Learning Disability (Dyslexia) |
| |
Subject to availability of seat after adjusting all the admission to other admissible disable category under section 2(i) of PWD Act, 1995. |

Medical Certificate issuing Authority for Physically Challenged Candidates |
 |
| |
| At the time of submission of application, Physically Handicapped candidates will be required to necessarily attach the copy of Physically Handicapped Certificate issued by Chief Medical Officer(CMO) Central Govt./ State Govt./ Municipal Corporation run Hospitals only. Such candidates are required to produce the original Medical Certificate at the time of Admission to the Institute. In case of any dispute in determining the eligibility under PH Category, the matter will be referred to Ministry of Social Justice, Govt. of India and decision of the said Ministry will be binding on both parties. |

Reservation for Kashmiri Migrant

| One seat (Supernumerary) is provided for Registered Kashmiri Migrants. Candidates registered with different State Govt. should produce proof of registration in original at the time of admission to the Institute. |

Ranks are strictly based on the marks obtained by the candidate in English + marks obtained in best of four subjects in 10+2 or equivalent exam. |

Merit Scholarships and Financial Assistance |
 |
| |
| (a) |
National Council has instituted Merit Scholarships Scheme with the help of Industry for meritorious students who obtain Ist, IInd and IIIrd position on All India basis in Council’s Annual Examination in the Ist year, IInd year and IIIrd year of the course i.e. after completion of both the Semester of the respective year. |
| |
|
| (b) |
National Council also provides Financial Assistance to the tune of Rs.20,000/‐ one each to Ist year, IInd year and IIIrd year students to the most deserving Scheduled Caste/ Scheduled Tribe candidate of each Institutes who fulfill eligibility criteria as per stated guidelines given by National Council for Hotel Management & Catering Technology. |

| (c) |
Scheduled Caste/ Scheduled Tribe candidates can avail financial assistance from their respective State Governments for which the concerned Institute will issue studentship certificate indicating fee received from the student. |

|
Inter-Institute Transfer/ Migration |
 |
| |
| National Council does not allow inter-institute transfer or migration on any ground during the entire duration of course. As such, no request for transfer or migration will be entertained after allotment of Institute of Hotel Management/ admission. |
| |
|
Fee Structure |

All candidates admitted will pay the following fee at standard rates in Indian Rupees during three years of the course.
(Subject to revision by NCHMCT, if any). |

In campus hostel facilities – subject to availability |

| In campus hostel facility is available for all first year students on sharing basis. Hostel fee is Rs. 14,000/- per semester + Rs. 2,000/- as annual caution deposit (refundable). Each student shall be provided with an individual Table, Chair, Cot, Mattress, and a Cupboard. Breakfast and dinner everyday and lunch on non working days is included in the hostel fee. |

In addition to the National Council Fee, the following has to be paid along with the 1st semester fees. |

| Uniform and Tool Kit |
Uniform & Tool kit: approx. Rs. 3000/-
(Students are to procure at their own cost theory & practical text and note books, prescribed uniforms, accessories and small tools.) |

Prescribed uniform is to be worn for practical and formal dress in the Theory classes. Jeans & T-shirts are not allowed.
For BOYS: A pair of black formal leather shoes with laces, one black tie, 2 black pants with pleats and 2 white shirts.
For GIRLS: A pair of black formal leather shoes, 2 black knee length skirts with pleats, 2 white shirts and a few formal sarees. |

In case you have been allotted hostel, you are also required to pay towards hostel & mess and other minor charges as applicable. |

In case at a later date the candidate is found to have willfully suppressed any information or submitted false documents, the Institute shall cancel his / her admission even at a later date. |
